Burnsville, NC is the Yancey county seat with an attractive small downtown oriented onto a town square within a 30 minute drive northeast of Asheville, NC.  Take I-26 North to NC 19E. 

Several art galleries, gift shops, and restaurants provide entertainment in a beautiful mountain setting at the north foot of the Black Mountain crest extending from Celo Knob to Mount Mitchell.
